While technically my first event was this past year’s New England Forest Rally (more on that nightmare in another article), the Team O’Neil RallySprint #2 was the first event that I actually started and finished. For that reason, I consider it my first real event. To begin with the school’s property is immense and the conditions were almost ideal. I was really going to enjoy the few short stages we were going to run and get much more seat time than I had in a very long time. My hunt for the stage car took me away from my rallyx activities but it was kind of a cost of doing business, so to speak. I had called on a new friend, Dave Baker, from Bakers Dozen Racing, and asked him if he would co-drive for a slow-poke newbie and he said sure!! I was glad to hear that as Dave
